The Foot Care Issue

Foot care is more important than most people realize. Unless you are suffering from a foot condition, it can be easy to take those tootsies for granted. Something as simple as a blister can be enough to make your day miserable. If left untreated, foot conditions can progress to something far more painful and detrimental to your health. Regular pedicures are not just about keeping your feet looking nice, although that is an added perk. They are about maintaining foot and leg health on a larger scale. This could include treating bacteria that causes foot odor, removing toenail fungus, preventing further infection, gentle removal of corns and calluses, correction of chronically ingrown toenails, foot & leg massage to improve circulation to the lower leg, etc.

Pedicure treatment is preventative and therapeutic. It can help reduce neuropathic and circulatory impairments because of diabetic symptoms while also allowing your aesthetician to keep a good pulse on overall changes in foot health.

Sudden onset of new callouses blisters, or wounds that are stubborn to heal can be signs of other underlying conditions that may not appear concerning to the untrained eye. For example, our feet are biomechanically designed to move us - but not to carry our weight. This is actually the hips.

Biomechanical deficiencies can lead to increased foot pain and callous formation, which your aesthetician can make you aware of, gently remove, and refer for further treatment such as massage or physiotherapy.

Utopia Aestheticians are meticulous regarding diabetic foot care and infection-control procedures.

Footlogix products are used in all treatments to treat specific foot conditions, seal, and protect the foot and leg skin.
